24Real skills + Real Jobs = Fulfilling Lives
Holistic Learning Sanctuary Foundation International Inc. (HLSF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit trade school, a place where men and women – veterans recovering from PTSD, those recovering from addiction, and people who’ve struggled with mental health issues – can get real-life training in trades like culinary services; agriculture; building/construction; computer sciences; and film and photography.

HLS offers this job training and life support in a safe environment catering to your individual learning style so that people who may not have thrived in traditional academic environments can get an education that will allow them to be able to support themselves with a career that will give them back their freedom, dignity, and self respect.

Students of HLSF will walk away with skills that will not only enable them to earn a living but will give them a new sense of hope and purpose.

When people know their purpose and have the skills to express it through work, all of society benefits.

Everybody wins.

OUR VISION

We help people learn real skills so they can get real jobs that support them in having fulfilling lives.

WE BELIEVE…

…anyone who’s been shut out of the workforce because of mental health, PTSD, or addiction, and the damage it does to their self-esteem, deserves access to a place that supports their style of learning.

…when people who’ve never believed in themselves learn a skill they can put to work, it strengthens the community.

YOUR GENEROUS DONATIONS will go directly towards acquiring and developing a location for the trade school, and for rolling out the culinary and agriculture program. (INSERT donate link)

New Approach

“Traditional colleges are difficult for many in recovery because they don’t feel that they can keep up, pushing them back into their hole and back into treatment a year later. This is why we teach people at their speed, according to where they are in recovery.”

– Concetta Mantinan

Trades

The Holistic Learning Sanctuary will provide job training for six trades, including construction, culinary arts, media, filmmaking/photography, agriculture, and computer science. By the time a student graduates, they will have the skills they need to take any trade test and will be better enabled to get a job.

Support

Concetta, our founder, is a big believer in capturing minnows, then fish, then whales. While she intends to build a global organization to impact education around the world, she recognizes the importance of doing the first project well.

We want to partner with local trade organizations to ensure we are giving our students the right skill set so as to be readily employable.

We will be starting with two trade lines, culinary arts and agriculture. As we begin having success with these two trade lines we will add others.
